Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den betting is prohibited. Eight casinos are anchored in a generally tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime spot, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel compound that features many amenities on top of the gambling den, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
